Bridging Voices, Shaping Policies
Bridge 4 Better is a community advocacy platform based on the Fraser Coast, Queensland. Founded by Karen Boulton-Gorry, we bridge the gap between lived experience and decision-making by translating policy into plain English and turning community concerns into organised action.
We focus on disability access and inclusion, youth empowerment, mental health reform, and regional equity, because postcode should never decide the quality of your supports, services, or opportunities.
Today, our work includes community storytelling with consent, practical education about how government works, and campaigns designed to deliver real outcomes. Over time, Bridge 4 Better aims to grow into a structured organisation that can deliver funded programs, lead co-design that isn’t tokenistic, and hold governments accountable for real, on-the-ground change in regional Queensland.

Our Mission
Our mission is to bridge the gap between lived experience and decision-making in regional Queensland. We make government, policy, and systems understandable. We make participation accessible. We push for accountability that can be measured.
Bridge 4 Better turns community reality into action. We translate complex decisions into plain English. We create clear ways for people to take part. We use tools like templates, submissions, meetings, and campaigns. We amplify lived experience safely and ethically. We do not do tokenism. We do not exploit people’s stories.
We focus on disability inclusion and access. We focus on youth voice and civic power. We focus on mental health reform from early intervention to crisis response. We focus on regional equity. We gather what the community is living through. We find the patterns governments miss. We turn those patterns into practical proposals and targets that can be tracked publicly. We aim for tangible local wins on the Fraser Coast and across the Wide Bay-Burnett region. We also push for change at state and national level.
